True. I was sitting behind the stage at this show and could see the teleprompter the whole time. That gives Bono and Obama one more thing in common, being unable to function normally without being fed their lines.

I was at that show that night, and fast cars was not on the set list. They acutally hardly every played it during the tour. It wasnt rehearsed or anything. that was the reason they didnt have it on the teleprompter they were not ready for it. but whether it was good or bad the crowd loved it.
That was funny.
Bono messed up the words on pretty much every verse, except the first. I can’t say I’ve ever seen another band screw up the lyrics as badly as Bono did here, but I’ve seen worse from Bono: Angel was a disaster of hysterical proportions at the 2nd Elevation show in Miami. Eventually he just ended it with something like, “Hey la di da Bono can’t park his car, angel….I must apologize.”

actually bono does use a telepromtper even for songs he has been singing for years, i have footage when you can see the teleprompter scrolling the words to the songs

This is so cool. They still did a great job on the song. Because they have fun on stage WE have fun watching them. I LOVE them and will forever be a U2 fan.
Awesome, awesome work. October 16 2005 he was fine with Fast Cars, but he forgot the words to In A Little While. He sang “In a little while, I’ll rememember the words//In a little while, I’ll remember this blessed song…” Funny stuff. Captions are fantastic. My fav was “Bono is a dead man.” So…..Edge.
